Oriental style in interior design

Oriental style is one of the most popular styles used for the design of houses and apartments. The rooms, decorated in oriental style, have a particularly warm, sunny, unique atmosphere. Oriental style is ideal for people who are trying to create comfort in the house, and at the same time they want their apartment to look unusual and stylish and does not contain anything extra.

Such a concept as “Oriental style in the interior” is very broad. In general, it can be divided into two areas: Arabic and Asian.

So, considering the Arabic style, first of all, you should pay attention to some of the features, characteristics and elements of decor that should be present in the interior of the “eastern” room. First of all, in such a room should not be the same type, boring elements, straight strict lines, smooth surfaces. The interior should be used bright colors, lace wood carving, the play of light, draping walls, soft furniture of warm colors, pillows, curtains. All these details will give your home a special charm and originality.

Also, very opportunely, during the interior decoration, there will be the use of handmade parts. It can be luxurious carpets, mosaics, ceramic figures or wood.

Arabic style, formed in the Middle East, has its inherent principles and characteristics.

The main distinctive features of the Arabic style:
Lack of images of people and animals (prohibited by the Quran;)
A huge number and variety of ornaments that cover almost all elements of the interior;
Bright saturated colors: red, gold, blue, purple, etc.
Many fabric elements and coverings (famous Arabian carpets and fabrics);
Use of mosaic;
Decorative pillows and mattresses to create more comfort and coziness;
Nacre and fine wooden carving;
Asian style (Japanese and Chinese) is a certain contrast to the Arabic style.

For the Japanese style is characterized by such signs:
love of space and light;
straight lines;
calm, natural colors;
minimum of furniture and design elements;
Great attention is paid to the location of interior details, since, as everyone knows, the Japanese are true supporters of the Yin-Yang teaching.

Chinese style has its own characteristics, such as:
The colors used in the interior: red, yellow, blue, gold, green;
Lack of sharp corners and bulky furniture.
The furniture should be from natural materials, black, red or brown color.
The main materials of Chinese style are: silk, bamboo, wood, ceramics.
Popular elements of decor: figurines of dragons, hieroglyphs, lacquer paintings, sculptures made of natural stone, porcelain, handmade carpets.
Following the teachings of feng shui.
Any room decorated in oriental style will be a special, mysterious place, both for guests and for the owners of the house. But it is necessary to clearly separate the components of the Oriental style – to divide it into Arabic and Asian.

In practice, when it says “interior in oriental style”, it is precisely Asian. But after reading this article, I think you will understand what the Oriental style is and how diverse it can be.
