Etched, carved, and/or painted glass can turn a regular door or sidelite into a work of art.
Etching is a process in which areas of the glass are removed to produce an obscured or frosted effect. The glass can be solid frosted with clear glass left as line definitions, or the glass can be shaded, which is a process where the sandblasting tapers off to create a more dimensional effect. The artwork can then be airbrushed or painted if required. The paints can either be translucent for jewel like tones and luminescent colors, or opaque paints can be applied for a solid look and private feel.
